Emile et Ida Dress Groseille

Dress in ecru cotton voile with “gooseberry” print. This motif is an Emile et ida exclusive designed by our stylist Mlanie, a little nod to her father in homage to the jams he concocts and which delight her the rest of the year. It is executed in block print which is an Indian artisanal technique of printing with carved wooden blocks.

Block print fabrics age well, but it is normal for the pattern to lose its intensity over time. This technique allows a return to craftsmanship and the enhancement of the manual gesture. Who says manual, says imperfection. We find indeed an irregular and imperfect side of the patterns, which also brings all the authenticity to the product.

We love the line of mauve flowers and the hand-embroidered smocks that form a ruffle at the edge of the square neckline, the elasticated ruffled sleeves on the shoulders, the cutouts of the large gathered ruffle hemmed in mauve satin stitch. The dress is fully lined in cotton veil to counter the transparency of the fabric, it falls below the knees and natural mother-of-pearl buttons close the back opening.

This dress makes all girls elegant without ostentation, every day and on all occasions.
